Dakota Walleye Guide Service

First of all I would like to thank everyone for another great fishing season. I have made many new friends on the water, at the ramps and cleaning stations. Lots of fun this past year! The 2015 fishing season was really, really good and I look for 2016 to be even better. The Northern Pike, Walleye and Smallmouth Bass fishing was excellent. Lake Sharpe and Lake Oahe has some of the best fishing in North America! The fish just get bigger and bigger each and every year. My customers caught 18 South Dakota Trophy Angler fish this past summer. It takes an 8 pound Walleye, 15 pound Northern and a 3 1/2 pound Smallmouth to qualify for an South Dakota Trophy Angler Award. World class fish to say the least.
2016 will be my 22nd year of guiding. Lots of water under the boat there.... I have been truly blessed and enjoy every moment of sharing the great fishing this area has to offer. There is nothing like the wind and the waves of South Dakota. Too many wonderful memories to list.... I would like to invite you to come and make some new fishing memories with me next summer. I enjoy kids of all ages and I will do my best to make YOUR trip a great one. I can accommodate any fishing package that you might need. One day, two day and three day fishing / lodging packages are available. Just let me know what works best for you and your group. Guided fishing with lodging or without, I will accommodate your every need. I have a brand new 2015 Lund Pro-V boat rigged and ready to go...
This coming spring will be fantastic for all species of fish. The Walleyes, Northern Pike and Salmon will be the first to go with the White Bass and Smallmouth Bass too follow as the water warms up. The Northern Pike bite should be really good as the Pike population in Lake Oahe is the best that I have ever seen. I will give you an honest shot at a Trophy Pike that runs from 15 to 25+ pounds. Lake Oahe is famous for ice out Pike fishing and one of my favorite things to do is chase huge Pike. The best time to capture a Trophy Northern Pike is right at ice out. Generally the last week in March / first week in April... Depends on what Mother Nature deals out as far as spring weather. The Walleyes will be going great at that time frame also. Total jig and minnow bite there. Lots of fun pitching and dragging jigs up shallow.
I feel that that Salmon bite will go better in 2016. The South Dakota Game Fish and Parks has been stocking Salmon hard. There is usually a shallow crankbite bite for Salmon right at ice out also. Many fishing options in the spring and the summer / fall fishing here goes without saying. There is World Class Fishing here from March thru October.
Just let me know what time of year works for you and I will put you on the very best bite(s) that I have going. This is YOUR trip and I want to make it a great one! 75% of my guide business is repeat customers and I want you to come back year after year also. I have made many great friends over the years....
